The SM-13 Series vernier Micrometers, which are standard drives for most Newport stages, are ourmost popular manual actuators and are available in travel ranges from 6 to 50 mm. These micrometers have 0.5 mm pitch (50.8 TPI) threads and read directly in increments of 10 μm, with vernier reading of 1 μm. A left handed version is also available. Left-hand threaded versions are preferred when the micrometer is mounted on the moving platform of a stage so that turning the micrometer moves the stage in the direction of the micrometer travel. The SM-13 is compatible with 461/462 , 561/562, 423/433, 426/436, 460P, 460A, 401/406, RS and GON Series Stages as well as many modular optical mounts.
